Deleting Your BowlSense Account Deletes the Data We Hold

Account deletion now removes the BowlSense login, games, uploaded files, and mailing-list record. Here is what goes, what stays, and how to do it.

Earlier this month I made the privacy policy match what BowlSense actually does, and I made account deletion do what the button says. The policy at bowlsense.io/privacy is dated October 5, 2026. The short version is the one I want the product to live up to: we don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't track you across other apps and websites.

Account deletion The account comes off our servers when you delete it In the app, open Settings and tap Delete Account. If you can't open the app, email support@bowlsense.io from the address on the account. See the steps How to delete an account The steps are also on bowlsense.io/account deletion. 1. Open BowlSense, go to Settings , scroll to the bottom, and tap Delete Account . Confirm it.

The account and the data we hold for it are removed then. They are not held for a 30 day review. 2. If you can't open the app, email support@bowlsense.io from the address on the account. Use the subject "Account deletion request". We verify the request and delete the account. Deleting the app from your phone does not delete the account. The account stays until one of those two steps happens.

A disposable production account went through the live deletion endpoint at https://www.bowlsense.io/api/account/delete . The check passed. The login was removed, and a later request with that token was rejected. The BowlerDNA report and the uploaded files tied to the account were deleted. An old league chat message was redacted and unlinked, without changing the message count in the linked thread.

A roster email was cleared. The RevenueCat purchase record for that fixture was deleted. Mailing list cleanup was accepted; that fixture had no Mailchimp member to remove. It was a synthetic account, not a real bowler's history.

What deletion removes Deleting the account removes: The sign in and profile Games, frames, and throws Arsenal, calibrations, layouts, and preferences League and sync records we hold, and league signups we hold Files uploaded for the account: Apple Watch motion recordings, raw sensor samples that app versions before 2.2.

8 uploaded, frame and research contributions, community ball photos, and BowlerDNA uploads and reports The Mailchimp subscription, if there is one The RevenueCat purchase record on iOS What deletion does not erase A few things are deliberately different. I would rather list them than imply a blank slate. League chat messages stay in the team thread so the conversation still reads.

The text becomes "Message deleted" and the author becomes "Former member". A league signup already sent to a bowling center stays with that center. We delete our copy. Stripe and the app stores keep the payment records the law requires them to keep. Sentry crash reports expire on Sentry's schedule. Anonymous community totals are not linked to you, so they stay totals.

Sensor research contributions, if you sent any, are deleted one year after you send them, even if you keep the account. Deleting the account removes them sooner. You can also email support and ask for one to be deleted before the year is up. Email is opt in We add you to the Mailchimp list only if you ask.

That is a newsletter form, the "Email me BowlSense news" choice at sensor checkout, or "Also email me BowlSense news" on BowlerDNA. If you opt in at checkout, the subscription stores your name, sensor model, and shipping address. If you ordered a sensor or used BowlerDNA before October 2026, you may already be on the list.
